Lake Powell

My family does an annual trip to Lake Powell, however, the last two years our houseboat has been getting repaired and we missed our vacation last year. So we were really looking forward to getting back down there this year. Since Jordan and I live in Las Vegas it takes us about 9 hrs to get there. So we decided to split up the trip and set out the day before we were to meet everyone else and stay the night in Richfield. Jordan's dad had family that lived in Aurora (a nearby town to Richfield), and his father actually lived in Aurora for the first year of his life. I also have family that lives in Aurora. So we decided we could spend some time visiting family and seeing where my father-in-law lived.

I don't know what this store is in Aurora, but I thought it was probably the most amazing window display I have ever seen.

So the next day we set out for Lake Powell. Long story short things weren't working so well with the houseboat so the trip ended up being a bust for the Curtis Family. We got there Monday morning and then left Monday evening. The rest of my family toughed it out and had a good time. Here are a few pictures we took of our day on the houseboat. The generator wasn't working and it was so hot I stripped Hannah down to her onesie and then finally resorted to just the diaper.

And that was the end of our Lake Powell trip. We decided to go to Salt Lake since Jordan had the whole week off from work. However, since we were planning on being on the lake all week, all we had were our swim suits and PJ's so we only spent one day in Salt Lake and then drove home to Las Vegas. Poor Hannah was so done with her car seat. We ended up just hanging out at home for the rest of the week. Our good friends Nate and Lindsey had a baby boy while we were gone so we were able to visit them. That was the only good thing about coming home early. We ended the week with a quick trip to Hoover Dam. We figured we only live about 30 minutes away we might as well check it out. It was actually pretty cool.

She pretty much hates her car seat at this point. Poor girl
